THE WORLD OF DEREK STENNING
A couple of weeks ago I did a post featuring the work of Derek Stenning who uses astronauts and cosmonauts as the main motif on his artworks. I recently stumbled upon Jeremy Geddes who’s another great artist who uses a similar motif in most of his paintings.
I couldn’t find that much info about Jeremy and his work but Empty Kingdom did an interesting interview with Jeremy back in June, so check that out here.

LOUIS ICART
Louis Icart etchings are on sale, just in time for Christmas

Rare Louis Icart etching Bubbles
I last held a sale on Louis Icart etchings about a year ago. It went well, so I decided to hold another one. The timing before Christmas is good for collectors, decorators or anyone looking for a great present. The sale starts today and will continue for exactly three weeks, finishing on December 8, 2010. The next day, prices will return to normal. This is a serious sale with prices slashed to wholesale levels not seen since the 1970s. Contact me soon as the selection will get smaller as the sale nears the end.

GALLE VASES
More information on how to spot reproduction Galle vases
St. Charles Gallery, Inc. held an auction this past Sunday, November 21, 2010. They sold two cameo glass vases that were reproductions of original Gallé vases. What was so good about that was how accurately they described them.

Reproduction Gallé vase, New Orleans Auction, lot 1047
Lot 1047 was described as follows: Tall Cameo-Cut Glass Vase, the blue over smoky topaz over yellow glass vase of tall baluster form in "Mountain Lake" decor in the manner of Emile Galle (1846-1904), the side with a pseudo-Galle signature in cameo script, h. 14-1/2″, dia. 4″.
